Welcome to our site and we hope to see you at the clinic soon. As many are aware, Brockway Brown Veterinary Clinic is going through a change of ownership. The Lamberton clinic has been closed since the end of January, and the Tracy clinic is changing ownership February 28, and will now be Prairie Skies Veterinary Services, LLC. The new owners are Dr. Marie Buschschulte and Dr. Kristen Cuperus. Dr. Marie has been providing services in Tracy, since 2016. Dr. Kristen is originally from the area and excited to move back, close to family, and run a practice near her hometown. Both enjoy providing services to small and large animal patients and clients.
A few tidbits on the Doctors:

Dr. Marie Buschschulte-Schreier, grew up on a family farm in Southern Illinois. Received her DVM from St. George's University, 2011. She has been in mixed animal practice since graduation, spending most of her career in Minnesota. Her and her husband, Mike and 3 children (Claire, Emma and Eli), live on his family farm near Tracy, raising sheep and pigs, a few naughty farm cats and 2 dogs (Reed- a german shorthair pointer & Jules- a border collie).

Dr. Kristen Cuperus grew up near Fulda on a family farm. She received her DVM from the University of Minnesota in 2017. She was in large animal practice in South Dakota for 2 years following graduation, she then moved to northeast Iowa and was practicing at a mixed animal practice there until February of this year. She and her husband, Sam, have 2 children (Isaac and Tate), and will be residing near Tracy. They have 2 dogs (a great dane - Walker and a cane corso mix - Lincoln) and 2 cats (Kevin and Bane). Dr. Kristen and her family are excited to be moving close to family, be more involved in the family farm and experience practice ownership!
A few comments on the change of ownership:
All patient files from both Brockway Brown Veterinary Clinics (Tracy & Lamberton) will be accessible from us.
If you have a current VPCR with Brockway Brown as a large animal client, it will transfer over to us. A VPCR (Veterinary Patient Client Relationship) is what is required for us to dispense any prescription medications. This means that on the large animal side, we have to at a minimum, have an annual farm visit or clinical exam of part of your herd. Ideally we would like to have a scheduled annual visit to go over vaccination and treatment protocols. On the small animal side, this means that every pet has to have an annual examination, in order to purchase any prescription medications, this includes heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
We will no longer email prescriptions to on-line pharmacies. If you prefer to use online pharmacies, you will have to come in and pick up a written prescription. This will eliminate the multiple declined prescriptions when the wrong dose, medication, and/or pet are listed incorrectly on requests. We are in the process of getting our own on-line pharmacy available. Once we have this established, you can order prescriptions and food directly to your home. We already have Hills to Home, this allows hills pet food orders to be shipped directly to your house. Please reach out, to our staff, if you want to be signed up!
Dispensed medications cannot be returned. Laws prohibit us from accepting returned medications. Only products in original sealed manufactures packaging can be returned.
After Hour Services. In the past few years, we have struggled to always have someone available to come in for an emergency. Our goal is to always have someone available after hours to assist. This means that one of the 2 doctors will be within a reasonable distance of the clinic, while on call. With only two doctors, and both raising young families, please be understanding and respectful of our time, and call only with emergencies outside of clinic hours. These after hour services are also, only available for clients with a current VCPR. If you leave a message and it is not returned, please feel free to call again. Sometimes cell service doesn't send a message, sometimes our doctors are already seeing someone else's emergency and are unable to check their phone, sometimes they are just in church... Our goal is to provide excellent care for our patients, during office hours and beyond, but sometimes circumstances will prevent that. All City Pet Care South is the nearest 24hr emergency hospital. This is the only 24hr staffed facility within 2hrs. If you have a small animal emergency and we cannot be reached for some reason, please call (605) 335-4004. For large animal emergencies, we will try our best to be available, but we get numerous calls during spring time. If you aren't reaching us, we are likely in the middle of another emergency, which is not always quick. We will return your call as soon as we can.
Payments. Clients with invoiced accounts through Brockway Brown Veterinary Clinic, can still mail payments to the clinic address or drop them off to the clinic. The services provided through February 28th, still need to be made out to Brockway Brown Veterinary Clinic. Please remit payments as soon as possible.
As of March 1st, the transactions will be made through Prairie Skies Veterinary Services, LLC. For small animal services, All Payments are Due at Time of Services, invoicing will not be allowed. For large animal services, they can be paid at time of service or invoiced, if a credit account has been set up/ approved with Prairie Skies Veterinary Services, LLC. Account information will have to be resubmitted for those wanting to continue to invoice services. Please be patient as we navigate our new computer program and input client information.

Most of us joined this profession, as animal lovers. But our job is much more about serving the people that own these beloved creatures. So please help us to continue to grow our existing relationships and establish many more. We will do our best to provide excellent service you and your animals.
